Floral Friday : A New Bloom

I'm excited to be participating in a new photo series started by Trishie at Under Lock and KeyThe theme for January is "a new bloom." When a flower begins to bloom, it's like a new beginning full of promise and beauty, much like a new year don't you think?

Floral Fridays is a monthly photography project with different themes each month. This series is about fun and taking time out to smell the flowers. To play along, please email Trishie for next month's theme. And please do visit my fellow bloggers for more floral inspiration below.

I apologize for not being able to come by and say hello on everyone's blogs yet this year. I recovered quickly from that cold but my immune system was still weak and I've succumbed to the flu. It has completely knocked me out. I really must get back to regular workouts when my ankle is fully recovered because I hardly ever got sick like this when I did.

rowena, that is going to be a fabulous photography project! excited that you are participating. trishie takes fabulous photos. it's a great way to get out and explore. have fun with it. you take care of yourself. if it doesn't clear up, definitely see a doctor. one time i stayed sick for a month and ended up with walking pneumonia. i ended up at the emergency room (had to leave from work). the flu is bad and is going around voraciously. sending warm & healing wishes your way doll.

Gorgeous photo, Rowena! May I just suggest taking it VERY easy when it comes to getting back to exercise because if immune system isn't strong enough any form of activity can be a massive set back for your health. First - deal with the body and diet, then think of exercise, starting with simple walks and maybe pilates or yoga. Take care and get well! x

That's a beautiful photo as always, Rowena! I hope you are able to recover from the flu really soon! I'm sorry you are sick again.

I had recently decided that although I can't do much of a workout {I have been walking a lot but that's it} I can do upper body strength exercises until my knee allows me to do more. I felt so much better when I used to do more so now I'm just working with what I can. Perhaps that will work for you as well?

You take the best flower photos Rowena. I like the way you aim at such interesting angle. It captures the beauty of this flower. This is such a neat project. Comes this Spring I plan to fill up my empty flower bed in the backyard with wildflowers. I bought seeds since last year. Cant wait! Get well soon.

Hi dear, Happy New Year!
One thing that you want to do it to ease into it, I damaged my ankle and knee when I was playing sport years ago, and learnt that for a full recovery it takes time. Wishing you a wonderful weekend. x/Madison
