Through My Lens : Recently

Some snaps of life recently. We had ourselves a little NYC staycation last week. We chilled out, went to the movies, shopped abit and ate our way around town. Our restaurant week lunch at The Dutch was included on this food tour along with Umami Burger which we went to on opening day. I'll be posting a review on that soon. Above is hubster and his Chuck Taylor's at Anthropologie in the meatpacking district after we had lunch at Old Homestead. Isn't that patterned floor fabulous?

I'd been coveting the Ray Ban Jackie Ohh's but forgot about them as soon I tried on these 4139's.
I love that they're clear and the violet color is so fun and more versatile than I expected.
Bought these Miss Albright sandals on sale from Anthropologie at the end of last summer and recently broke them out.
They're so comfy and the neutral metallic color goes with almost everything.
My Mom gave me this SK-II mask and I'm looking forward to trying it.
knew these were pricey so I looked it up and they're $145 for a pack of 6 so that's like $24 a pop. Like wow!
The matcha latte is my go to drink at Harney & Sons in Soho.
If you happen to be shopping in the area, this is a great spot to stop for some rest and refreshment.
Finally dropped by Smorgasbar at the South Street Seaport despite living just 10 minutes away.
We tried the tacos at Fonda which were so yummy and there is much more to try.
Definitely going back and will do a full write-up about it.
Missed the Japanese Gourmet Food Fair at MitsuwaNew Jersey in June but we caught the recent Kyushu & Okinawa Food Fair
The special Hakata Nagahama Ramen of Tanaka Shoten was totally incredible.
Bacon and egg mazeman ramen at the Yuji Ramen pop-up at Whole Foods Bowery.
This is a new style of ramen that's served without broth.
It's probably not for ramen purists but we enjoyed the rich flavor and toothsome noodles.
Just heard that they will be at Whole Foods on a more permanent basis and look forward to going back.
We had the M22 bus to ourselves for two stops. And this was on a Saturday night in the Village.
I prefer the bus to the subway whenever I'm not in a particular hurry to get somewhere.

Rowena, can your mom be my mom? HAHAHA When I saw SK-II, I immediately saw $$$$$$. I looked at their products once and then looked at their prices and said OMG'DDDD!!!! Would you mind telling me how you liked them or do a review? Whatever is easiest. I'm interested in knowing. I bet they're good! I love staycations. I still have a gift card to The Ritz I haven't spent. So I'm going to do one here in NOLA. Fabulous food and tell your hubby I love his kicks! Love your sandals. They LOOK comfy and will go with everything. Have a great week!

I almost choked at the price of the SK-II masks...I mean I know it's an expensive brand, but mannn, it's practically robbery XD

Your pictures totally remind me of how much I miss NYC! I lived there for about a year back in 2009 and seriously gained like 30 pounds because I just couldn't stop eating. The food was so good, and your pictures are making me salivate again. haha

PS- how did the SKII masks work?

Looking forward to your review of Umami! I've been a few times to the ones here in LA, I'm not much of a burger fan but theirs are delicious-- also love their cheesy tots :P

Love the sunnies!

Love the sunnies babe and doesn't look it but purple is such a versatile color, easy on my eyesight and work with most skin-tone. SK-II mask is a luxury for me but every now and then I grab a 6 packs at HK/Tokyo airport because it's so great for long flight. I think they're the "feel good" mask or temporary fix because I love my skin right after the mask but the effect last about 1 day and I don't feel using them for long term will improve my skin and I use the whole line for like 6 months.
